It has been a very very long time since i posted...Life has been so hectic but so fulfilling because of the new addition into our family...Our darling girl Jazzele.....
It had been a rewarding and full 2007 for us, with the arrival of our baby girl, celebrating christmas, adjusting to the new role of being a mother of 2, handling a young toddler with is now all hands and legs and busy climbing here and there and exerting his own independence as well as juggling breastfeeding, (yes! once again i am breastfeeding and pumping) taking care of a young baby whose character and temper is so different from her gor gor, working full time...No wonder my hands are full and i got no time to update the journal...haha...
A time for reflection as we proceed into 2008.....Remembering the time in 2007 during Lunar New Year when Jay is only 6mths old....

Day 3- Excursion to Sentosa Underwater World
Day 3 the teachers have planned an excursion to Sentosa Underwater World where the kids will get to learn about the fishes....We set off earlyand instead of gathering at the school and take a coach there together with the rest of the kids and parents, we decided to meet them there at Underwater World instead....too bad that day hubby is unable to join me and Jay as he has something on..Hence i asked my mum to come along with us as i am sure i would not be able to handle jay alone myself carrying the huge diaper bag and his stroller...

This is a way outdated post....After the arrival of our princess Jazzele, i found myself no time at all to sleep, eat and least of all to update the journal. Friends have been asking me so often when will there be new entries but i always say i got no time....Till in year 2008 that i have the time to finally and hopefully update all the happenings in 2007....So bear with me and enjoy the entries in the meantime...its no mean fest to handle being a FTWM aka Full Time Working Mum, breastfeeding, taking care of a newborn baby plus an ever active toddler...haha....but well to all friends who are waiting, here you go..... :)
I decide that i should make full use of my 2 mths confinement period after giving birth to not only enjoy my new born princess but also to make sure that i do not neglect my son after the birth of his meimei and hence after much searching for a holiday program for him to keep him entertained, we decided on, or rather I decide on letting jay try the much talked about Julia Gabriel Hols Program. The program is only available at Evans Road and its a week long program where 1 adult has to accompany the child and its a 1.5hr program. The program is rather pricey though but since there has been so much talk abt it, i decide to let Jay try it.....Hence on the 19Nov, Monday, we put Jazzele together with the maid at my parents home and off we went for Day 1 of the program. Hubby wrote us to Evans Road and since classes start at 9.30am, we set off early....
Day 1
Everyday before the actual program start, there will be 30mins or so of free play where the babies will get to play with the toys, balls, books and interact with the rest of the babies in the program. Jay was initially rather shy and refuse to leave my side but after a while, he soon warm up and started playing with the balls in the classroom...he loves balls...haha

After the initial 30mins of free play, the kids will all sit in a circle around the teacher and there will be a morning song where it goes something like this " Good Morning, good morning, good morning to you, good morning to Jayden, how do you do...." this will goes on till all the babies names are being mentioned.... After that there will be story telling time...Jay was entralled with the story telling n the teacher will hav a hand puppet in her hands and use it to attract the babies and make the story more interesting...After that there will be a special "magic box" where the teacher will hold it and go around to the babies and let them tap on it and then will take something out from the box and it will be the theme of the art n craft session for that day.....There are things like finger painting, drawing etc....its so fun and interesting for the babies...N it warms my heart to see jay looking so interested in it as he has never tried such things at home before... And then there will be a snack time for the babies where the teacher will give out different snacks in a snack bowls and all the babies will sit on a chair and eat....its reali an interesting thing for me and jay as he has never tried sitting quietly in a chair meant for kids and self feed himself....
Everyday there will be a different theme of play for the kids....N after the 1st day of class, i found myself looking forward to the next day and i am sure jay himself is anticipating the program for each day... :) Well, all in all, i felt that its worth the $$ spent and i love the program!! Hee hee...
Day 2- Waterplay
Day 2 once again start with free play and the theme for today play is waterplay.....There is 2 big tub of water where toys are throw into the tub and the kids are encourage to remove their tops and free play for them....Jay loves it!! He had lotsa fun playing with the toys, splashing around with the water and making him all wet...but i love his expression and his simple pleasure and happiness on his face....:)

Our little boy has begin to start to recognise object when he sees it and can associate the word with the object....One of the things he knows how to recognise now is the word Ball....Though i think his pronouication is not 100% accurate yet...haha...I again manage to capture this on video..enjoy....This little one loves his ball...haha

During the weekdays when jay is at my parents home while we work, i realise that they have been teaching jay quite a bit of things...and one of the things that jay has learn is to nod or shake his head indicating if he wants something..thou there are still times where he does not really understand what we mean and will do the opposite...haha...but then its still very cute to see him nodding hishead indicating he wants something..Over the weekends, i manage to capture our little head indicating he wants his favourite snack which is bread....Enjoy the video and see the cheeky little one in action...haha

This year is Jayden first mooncake festival that he can celebrate properly since he has started walking and we though of bringing him for a stroll with all the other kids with his lantern...But alas, he fall sick during this period of time and we decide not to bring him out...I still went ahead to buy him a balloon type of pooh bear lantern and gave it to him to carry around my parents home instead...Next year we will make it up to you okie darling...:)

I have not been updating Jay journal much lately coz been busy and has not really been taking much pics as well...well it seems i am going to pop soon and hence i decided i better upload some pics i took recently as well as some videos of jay....
Updates on Jay progress...
jay loves to walk now but i still feel that he is still not very steady...:P well with him walking so much in the house, books seems to have make its way off the shelves, toys are thrown everywhere and if i am not walking with him and holding his hands, i am sure the food and things in the kitchen cupboards will also find its way onto the floor...he loves to reach out to things and take them and then after a while throw them onto the floor...
Jay now has 7teeth and i just started brushing his teeth using a finger brush...his teeth seems to be sprouting quite fast...3 teeth came out at the same time....
Jay has recently suffered from a rather long stretch of fever...Poor boy...Has been to see the PD 4times in 2weeks and he has developed a fear of doctors such that once the PD lifted his shirt to check his chest, he will start crying like mad and he hates to be put down onto the examination bed for the PD to check on him...he will cry so loud...Makes my heart break....His fever lasted almost 2 weeks, thou he remains active and playful but he seems to have lost some weight during this period of sickness...:( Mummy has also lost weight during this period of time coz i was barely sleeping at nite coz every 3hrs, i will wake up to take his temp and sponge him if his fever gets too high...Mummy lost a total of 400gram over 3weeks...But luckily princess still manage to gain weight though how i dunno...haha...We finally brought him to see a PD last sat and he was dignosed as having false mealses...with rash appearing on his chest area on Friday...Well i pray that our little boy will be healthy and strong from now onwards!!!
Jay has also started knowing how to point his fingers to indicate something that he wants and also learn how to say new words like ball, car, duck and has started trying to imitate us though his pronounication is still not accurate...well i manage to take a video of his showing his knowledge of the word ball when i hold up a ball for him to see...he has also learn how to nod and shake his head indicating if he wants something...Life is getting so much more fun with our little boy as he learn how to communicate with us in his little ways....

Yes, i bought a little small haversack for Jayden..hee hee...cannot resist it coz i thought that the size is just nice for jay as its not too big and not too small for him to carry...Actually i think the bag is more for me coz for me to pack his snacks to bring out to feed him whenever we are outside having our meals...
To sidetrack a little, Haha...as a good mummy, i try my best to prepare healthy snacks to bring out for jay to eat, be it in the car when he tend to fuss sitting in his car seat or when we are outside having our meals..This little toddler of ours (yes, he is now a toddler now that he has turn 1, though he is still a little baby in my eyes :P ) needs to be fed biscuits or a snack when he sits in his baby chair, if not after a while he would start to fuss...We have been feeding him baby biscuits whenever we hav our meals and after a while i felt that this is not healthy long term for him and its heaty for him to always eat biscuits, hence i decide to embark on cooking healthy snacks for him..hence the little bag comes in useful for me to put in his snacks, water bottles, baby wipes etc..that way i can just bring out his little bag instead of bring out the whole diaper bag of his coz usually he does not need all the items inside the diaper bag...
So what types of snacks have i prepared for the little one so far....Well i have prepared lightly toasted wholemeal bread spread with cheese for him and cut into small pieces ( he loves bread with cheese the best so far), steamed baby carrots, cut into small pieces as well, steamed aspargus, cut fruits like strawberries, blueberries and grapes...(Too bad i forgot to take pics of the snacks i prepared for jay..) Well thats all so far..have to start thinking of new snacks for jay again as well...:P

Today is jadelle 1 birthday celebration and Jay was once again at the party of his little friend..guess its the last bday party of all his friends who are turning 1 years old...We had a great time there as jas rented lotsa toys and set up a room just for the babies and toddlers to play in..too bad we had to leave early before jadelle cut her birthday cake..anyway a few pics taken at the birthday bash...Wasted did not get to take a pic of jadelle and jas thou...

Since Jay has 4teeth and can begin holding biscuits and eating on his own...we found the perfect way to have a decent and peaceful lunch/dinner outside..haha...
What we will do is to sit Jay in the baby seat, give him a teething biscuit and it will be able to entertain him while we have our food and he can just sit there muching on his stick of biscuit..haha...we found an organic foodstick as what it is called, that is hard and perfect for teething babies as they can chew on it and it will slowly melt in his mouth..it keeps him entertained and its gd for him and we can now have some peace eating our food...haha...It tends to get a little messy and sticky for jay but its all worth it for some peace while we all eat...haha

We had been busy the past few weekends starting from the weekends before Jay birthday party as a lot of August Babies are turning 1 in this month of August and we have been blissfully invited to several of them...thank you mummies and daddies and babies for inviting Jay to share in your little one 1st birthday!! Jay had lotsa fun at every birthday party he attended, playing with his little friends, eating the birthday cakes (think this is the only opportunity for him to eat sugared food coz mummy does not believe that little one should be taking sugar now ) and of course, going home each time with balloons....Jay loves balloons...hee hee...
First birthday party Jay attended was on 28July which is his friend Jayden party.. (Yes his friend has the same name and spelling as Jay but he is born on 2nd August while Jay is born on 6 August)...It was held at the function room at a condo and the place is nicely decorated with lotsa balloons and the theme is Winnie the Pooh...the birthday boy is dressed so cute in a pooh outfit and the birthday cake is a 3D of Hee Haw...so nice....Too bad i forgot to bring my camera that day and hence no pics was taken...only this pic courtesy of Joey, Jayden mummy...

Next birthday party that Jay attended was just last weekends, on the 11 August and 12 August...
11 August is cute little megan birthday party held at the Queens condo function room...The room is nicely decorated with lotsa balloons as well and little megan had a very lovely and pretty birthday cake fit for a princess....Frances, megan mummy also rented some toys to entertain the kids at the party and Jay had lotsa fun playing in the boat pit filled with his favourite toys and had fun interacting with his friends little Kayden, little Jadelle, little Denise....This time i remember to bring along my camera and managed to capture some pics at the party...

This time its little chubby and cute Denise birthday party held at the Aloha Loyang resort....The resort is beside the pool and again nicely decorated with balloons..this time only little megan and her daddy n mummy attended the party as the rest were unable to make it...But Jay still enjoyed himself very much walking all around the place and holding and playing with his balloon...haha...

I decided to try renting a toy for jay a few days before his birthday as a nice birthday treat to pamper him and also to entertain his little friends coming to his party....so i proceed to search for a nice toy for him and finally gotten one from this website call Rent a Toy http://rent-a-toy.com/ The price for the toy for a mth rental is very reasonable and after this i guess i can continue renting toys from this website....Thanks Frances for the introduction....:)
The toy was delivered on Friday, 2 days before Jay birthday bash and Jay has lotsa fun exploring the toy when it arrives at night and was upset when i carried him away to feed him milk and pet him to sleep...haha..
On Sun 5 August itself, we also proceeded to set up a play corner for the kids and babies and placed the rented toys plus a few of Jay other toys there on the playmat for the babies to play....

Our baby has turn 1 Year Old...Yipeee....He was born on 6 August 2006 and how time flies and now he is already 1!!..We held a birthday party for him on 5 August....
I finally downloaded the pictures to Jayden 1st Birthday Party and now have the time to update the journal on his birthday party....Many people have been asking me if i had uploaded the pics...haha...so here they are..unfortunately there were not much pics taken on that day coz we were super busy with friends and relatives and Jay was happily walking all around the house and occassionally being wisked away by either my mummy or my mother in law to show to their friends and relatives....Only manage to take pics during the cake cutting time....by then, our little boy is already very tired and he conked out directly after cutting his cake...he was already falling asleep on my shoulders while we were taking pics...poor baby...due to too much excitement and guests arriving at 12, he did not get to have his morning nap after he woke up at 9.30am....he resisted sleeping till 4pm when his little eyes just could not keep open anymore...haha...

Jayden Birthday Cake...His daddy wanted his cake to be from Hilton Hotel and hence i decide that i have to do a little modifications to the "adult" cake to make it more like a birthday cake for a little 1 year old boy so i got some cake decorations items from this website call birthday direct and customise jay cake...we then decorate the sides with little cupcakes that we got from the coffeebean which i felt the end results was a very nice and unique cake for our little boy....:)

Jay has always had funny actions and gestures that he will do at odd times...like blowing bubbles, playing with his saliva..and worst at one time, poking his fingers into his nose and eyes...and the more we tell him not to or give him attention, the more he will do it...Perhaps he thinks he is getting our attention coz we will sometimes laugh at his actions so nowadays if we see him doing something weird that we do not want him to repeat, we just ignore him and really, after a while he just simply stop doing it all together...haha...

Hubby has been a great daddy to Jay and he is a very hands on daddy and from the day Jay is born, he has done every single things that i did..from changing jay diapers, making milk, feeding jay milk, bathing jay...whatever that i did, he has done it...Hence our darling is as close to me and to his daddy and i love to see both father and son bonding....hence above is a video of daddy giving Jay his bath...Enjoy
